The brave souls that live in intentional Christian community at Vista House do not expect it to be a cakewalk. Conflicts, close-quarters and castles of dirty dishes present community members opportunities for both individual and communal growth. Community members meet in the mornings during the week for prayer, meditation and community meetings, they help maintain Vista House on Saturday work days, and they also host Vista House events. In addition to trying to live out the Gospel of Christ while living in close proximity with a diverse group of Christians, community members are committed to treating every guest that walks in the door as if they were Jesus Himself. This blend of internal cohesion and outward hospitality is the core of Vista House’s mission.
